Youth Leader Corps is a program that uses volunteerism in the process of youth development. The focus is on teaching and offering experiences that will nurture the development of the YMCA core values in our youth and helping to create community leaders of the future.

Youth Leader Corps participants will engage in regular sessions for learning, training and fun with activities centred around recreational team building activities, personal growth, planning events and activities that will encourage youth to take a personal step towards making a difference in their YMCA, their community and their world.

Youth In School Program

The YMCA is committed to providing healthy choices for our community’s youth. Our Youth-In-School Program provides children at local schools with safe, healthy, after-school opportunities in recreation, creative and development programs. Contact the General Manager of Children’s Services for our current programs at schools in Northumberland County.

Red Cross Babysitting Course

Have your child well prepared for their first forays into babysitting. Participants must be 12 years of age in order to receive a certificate. This program is offered by staff from our Child Care Centres in Cobourg and Port Hope. Check our current program schedule for registration and class times.

YMCA Birthday Parties

What a great place to have your Birthday Party! You provide the cake and the children and we provide supervised swimming in the pool, snacks, drinks, games and loot bags. Book your child’s next birthday party at the YMCA by contacting our Membership Services Desk.
