Camp Wunjo

The Norse people of ancient Europe lived in tune with the ecological world around them. The slabs engraved with runes are scattered throughout the forests of Northern Europe, recording the stories and knowledge of that time and place in history.

One special rune was reserved for times of peace and joy — the rune of Wunjo. Our day camp, “YMCA Camp Wunjo” was named after this rune, a magical place brimming with nature, mystery and loads of fun!

The Cobourg and Brighton YMCA locations offer summer day camps, using the outdoor environment to help children and youth build self-esteem, encourage growth and leadership, and develop skills for the future. The main focus, of course, is to participate and have fun!

With weekly camp themes like Mad Scientists, The Beach and Super Heroes, your kids are sure to have a blast all summer at Camp Wunjo.
