Training and Development
YMCA Northumberland is devoted to improving the individuals in our community through extensive skill training and development. While most classes take place at our Cobourg facility, the Brighton YMCA also offers several programs to enhance your skill set and help prepare you for your future. The YMCA is always working to improve our community by providing training and development programs. We offer valuable instruction, certifications and employment opportunities for youth and adults alike.
If you know a YMCA volunteer in our community who is pursuing post-secondary education, please nominate them for the Michael Moore Memorial YMCA Scholarship.

Squires in Training
Ages 13+ This intensive week of training helps participants develop the leader within themselves. These young scholars are guided on a learning journey, encouraged to create and run their own unique activities. Maturity, sound judgment and purity of heart are absolutely necessary for those campers who wish to take on the challenge of training to achieve squire status. Upon completion of the program, participants deemed mature and reliable enough will be invited to become Camp Wunjo volunteers.
