Building Fund Fee
Each new family, adult and senior member are required to pay a one time Building Fund Fee. Family $60, Adult $30 and Senior $30. The fee directly assists the YMCA in maintaining a safe and up-to-date facility as it is used for facility improvements and equipment for new and existing programs.

Cobourg YMCA members have full access to the facilities in Brighton and Cobourg and are eligible for the discounts on membership programs.

Guest Passes
YMCA members are encouraged to bring guests so that they may consider joining in the YMCA experience. Members are permitted a limited number of passes each year, inquire at the Membership Services Desk for your passes. Additional Guest Passes for gifts or day use may be purchased.


Membership Payment Plan
Your YMCA membership may be paid in full, or on a monthly basis through our Pre-Authorized Chequing (PAC) plan. The PAC plan is continuous and renewal is automatic.  You will be notified in writing 30 days before any changes in monthly fee that will affect your account (typically effective in January of each year)
If you fail to make your monthly membership payments and have not notified the YMCA of your intention to cancel, you will be reminded of your obligation. There is a $25 service charge on cheques returned by the bank and Pre-Authorized Payments made against accounts with insufficient funds.

Membership Holds
Memberships may not be placed on hold. If a membership is prepaid , the membership can be cancelled and any unused portion refunded or left on the account as a credit to be applied when the membership is once again required . If a membership is paid through the PAC plan, and a pause in the membership is required, the PAC plan should be cancelled (see below).

Membership Cancellation
Memberships may be cancelled at any time without a service charge. If you are paying on a monthly basis, written notice must be received before the 16th of the month to the effect that you do not wish to have the membership renewed.  Photo identification membership cards must be returned for all cancelled memberships. Refunds (if applicable on a prepaid membership) are calculated on a prorated basis and will be processed within two to three weeks. Outstanding payments must be cleared at the time of cancellation.
