Adult Fitness and Personal Conditioning
Adult Fitness programs and access to the
Personal Conditioning Centre are available for members ages 16
and over. Contact the Membership Services Desk to arrange for
an orientation before you begin to use the Personal
Conditioning Centre. The orientation which is included in your
membership offers an explanation on the use of equipment plus a
recommended workout routine to get you started! For an
additional fee, the YMCA offers Fitness Appraisals to assess
your present level of fitness for future comparison. A fitness
appraisal, which includes a workout routine designed
specifically to your needs, will be conducted by trained and
qualified YMCA staff.
Personal Conditioning Centre - Teen
Orientations
Youth aged 14 and 15 may use the Personal
Conditioning Centre (PCC) if they participate in a Teen
Orientation. The orientation will provide a theory component as
well as hands-on experience with the equipment in the
Conditioning Centre. A short oral test will be given at the end
of the orientation. A photocopy of the participant’s
birth certificate must be presented prior to orientation
registration.

This new program focuses on youth
leadership development, volunteering and fun! Youth will meet
weekly for activities and participate in YMCA programs and
services as volunteers.Ê
Youth Leader Corps is a program that uses
volunteerism in the process of youth development. The focus is
on teaching and offering experiences that will nurture the
development of the YMCA core values in our youth and helping to
create community leaders of the future.
Youth Leader Corps participants will
engage in regular sessions for learning, training and fun with
activities centred around recreational team building
activities, personal growth, planning events and activities
that will encourage youth to take a personal step towards
making a difference in their YMCA, their community and their
world.
