Join us for a fun night and try a dynamic, energizing class that integrates the ballet barre, weighted balls, resistance bands and other equipment to provide a full body stretch and strength workout.

YMCA Northumberland is hosting it’s first-ever Barre night at the Cobourg YMCA to give everyone an opportunity to try a Barre class for free. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. classes will run every 30 minutes until 7:00 p.m.

We encourage everyone to register beforehand to secure a spot in a class. Please click here to register online.

What is Barre?

YMCA Barre is a dynamic, energizing class that integrates the ballet barre, weighted balls, resistance bands and other equipment to provide a full body stretch and strength workout. This 45-minute fitness class takes a dance-like approach, focusing on form and precision while performing isometric movements and emphasizing basic alignment, foundation, specific muscles actions and deep stretching. Like many of our Group Fitness classes, Barre is suitable for participants of various ages, stages and abilities. No dance background is required!
